- Great burst off the line
- Runs near perfect routes

- Very shifty- can turn on a dime and fake out defenders
- Can get yards after the catch
- A threat with reverses and screens
Negatives:
- Poor blocker
- Tends to trap the ball in his chest, rather than use his hands to make the catch
- Struggles to catch passes that are not thrown right to him- especially ones over his head
- On the smaller side at just 5′9″ 190lbs
- Not an every down receiver
Jacoby Ford and the Jets:
Both Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery are good starting NFL receivers, but the Jets need an effective guy to use in the slot. Jacoby Ford is a perfect fit for an NFL slot receiver. His size and skill set remind me a lot of ex-Jet Santana Moss. Jacoby Ford has blazing speed that translate well on the football field. He is very difficult to jam at the line of scrimmage due to his burst off the line. He would be a matchup nightmare for linebackers and safeties on 3rd down and would likely become a reliable target for Sanchez.
Jacoby Ford is also a threat at returning punts, which is something the Jets have struggled with the past few seasons. Leon Washington is a great kickoff return man, but doesn’t seem to be nearly as effective returning punts. Leonhard and Cotchery did a serviceable job, but the Jets don’t want to risk an injury to either of those during a punt return. Ford is likely to be taken somewhere between the late 2nd and middle of the 3rd round.
