Santonio Holmes In Trouble Again

By Steven Clarke on April 30, 2010

Santonio Holmes is no stranger to off the field issues, as he is already facing a four game suspension for a violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy. According to Rotoworld,  Holmes was pulled off a flight on Thursday night for being a “disruptive passenger.” There have been no specific details on exactly what took place, but the 26 year old receiver was not arrested.

Roger Goodell has a history of being very strict with his NFL Conduct Policy, especially with players that have multiple infractions. It will be interesting to see what kind of action, if any, transpires from this. Stay tuned.

UPDATE:

Some more details have been released. It doesn’t look to be as serious as it originally appeared.

Holmes was reportedly escorted off of an airplane at Pittsburgh International Airport Thursday night for being a disruptive passenger. It happened around 9 p.m. Holmes was apparently told he had to turn off his iPod, but he refused – at which time he was removed from the flight. After he spoke with officials, he said he understood and was allowed back on the plane. -KDKA

UPDATE II:

It now appears that Holmes was never actually removed from the plane, according to ESPN.

Earlier reports from two Pittsburgh-area television stations had said Holmes was escorted off the plane after being “disruptive.”However, Holmes got off the plane by himself, and police officers reminded him of complying with flight regulations. The wide receiver was not charged. Speight says the report was filed with the Allegheny County Police Department after Holmes’ flight landed. Allegheny County police reiterated in a statement that Holmes was not removed from the flight. “He was asked to remove his iPod [at one point], in which he complied,” the statement said.
